REIGNING Most Valuable Player (MVP) Frank Angelo Cipriano didn’t get his usual production but Lexmark’s other MVP Sylvester Millevo came to the rescue as he powered the Stallions to an 82-49 dumping of the SSI Warriors last Sunday in the Elite Division of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

Millevo, one of only two players in the league to simultaneously win the MVP and Rookie of the Year awards, finished with 22 points, three rebounds, three steals and one assist.

Jarris-Ali Ruiz, Jan Oneil Sahilan, Michael Recla, Siegfred Ofonda and Neil Armamento scored at least seven points each as they helped Millevo cushion the six-point production of Cipriano, who tallied 19 points and 19 rebounds in the Stallions’ 65-49 win over the Telstra Boomerangs last week.

Though he didn’t score much, Cipriano still made his presence felt by collaring 12 rebounds, swatting two shots and adding three steals and three assists.

Lawrence Agas scored 23 markers to lead the Warriors, who stayed winless after two games.

In the EVO League, the Blue Ocean Pirates barged into the win column by downing the Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 50-36; the Kyocera Frontiers tripped the United Health Group Cobras, 64-53; while the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties nipped the Teletech Titans, 60-55.
Raymond Dennis Tan paced the Ocean Pirates (1-1) with 14 markers.

The Hardbacks, who slipped to 1-1 (win-loss), struggled mightily but didn’t have a single player scoring in twin digits.
Improving to 2-0, the Frontiers were led by Eliot Emerson Uy, Ariel Ramonito Edera and Eduardo Tuico Jr., who combined for 42 points.
Joseph Juariza netted 15 markers for the Cobras, who slumped to 0-2.

Tech Mahindra snatched its second victory in as many starts behind Robert Rebaño, who delivered 11 points, five boards, three assists and three steals.

Perry Niones wound up with 15 markers and nine rebounds for the Titans, who suffered a second straight defeat.
