By: Calvin D. Cordova July 20,2016 - 09:30 PM

JERRY Castroverde has to wait a little longer in his first foray abroad as his scheduled fight against a South African boxer was moved to a later date.

Catstroverde, a featherweight stalwart of the Omega Boxing Gym was supposed to take on Aphiwe Mboyiya today in East London, South Africa but the fight was moved to July 29 still in the same venue, said Chad Canares, Vice President of Omega Pro Sports International.

The cause of delay was not immediately known. At stake in the fight is the IBF Africa superfeatherweight crown.

Castroverde is expected to have his hands full abroad as he will be taking on an opponent who is on a roll.

Owner of 13 wins (6KOs), two losses and a draw, Mboyiya has won his last five fights. But Mboyiya has never fought outside South Africa.

Castroverde, who has nine wins (5KOs) and two losses, is looking to preserve his own winning streak.

The 19-year-old Castroverde collected three straight victories after absorbing a unanimous decision loss to John Vincent Moralde last Sept. 26 of last in General Santos City.
