The collegiate basketball games in the brand-new season of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) will have a new home as they will be telecast over Aksyon TV nationwide and on Cignal.
The matches are tentatively set to be aired Mondays to Fridays, from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
This means that the players of Cebu’s premier inter-school league will get to showcase their talents to a wider audience through the support of the Cesafi’s major backer, Smart Communications.
The games will still be covered by Viva Sports.
“We’re excited that the television coverage will be on Aksyon TV and have the support of Smart. Our local players can now be seen on TV. This is a first for any league outside Metro Manila,” said Cesafi official, Rico Navarro, who also acts as an analyst for the games.
The season will kick off this Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum with a double-header between the junior and collegiate squads of the University of San Jose-Recoletos and the University of Cebu.
