An 82-year-old woman died after being trapped in her house that was gutted by a fire in Barangay Malolos, Barili town at 9 am Saturday.
The remains of the victim identified as Dionisia Empinado was discovered by firefighters amid the charred debris in the area.
PO2 Gilbert Encabo of the Barili police precinct said the victim was alone when she cooked her meal. Neighbors saw a fire broke out in her house made of light materials.
