IT’s not yet the onset of dry season although hot temperature is expected in the coming days.
As of 2 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan recorded temperature at 31.5 degrees Celsius with a heat index of 33 degrees Celsius.
Jhomer Eclarino, weather specialist of Pagasa Mactan, said the country is still on the transition period from northeasterly winds (cold winds) to easterly winds (dry weather).
“Last year, the dry season started on March 18. This year, it will start around second week of March,” Eclarino told Cebu Daily News.
Alice Canasa, also of Pagasa Mactan, said that although the onset of the dry season is expected this March, there’s a possibility that the country will experience at least one tropical cyclone before the month ends.
