Cebu is known for people with beautiful faces and exquisite personalities. Making it to the modelling scene has been hard for aspiring Cebuanos to conquer the stage and walk through the limelight but people like Marlon Wafer has made huge breakthroughs in molding Cebuana models.
Humble Beginnings
Marlon Wafer was born in October 9, 1965. He was an Industrial Partner Manager in an employment agency before he started Wafer Models and Events in 1999 with his first male model, Randolf Borces. He debuted as a fashion director and made his huge break on Wendy Mendoza’s 50th birthday fashion show where he catered 8 -14 models for the event. His second big break gained media exposure and it was chosen as a commercial ad for a well-known hotel. His career continues to rise as he made himself an instrument in fulfilling everyone’s dream of becoming a model.
Success story
On his success in the modeling industry, he said “I consider myself successful because I’ve touched a lot of hearts, improved personalities, and helped my students achieve and succeed in the field of fashion and pageantry.”
To name a few famous models under Wafer Models and Events are the following: Sarah Katrina MiƱoza – Miss Lapu-lapu 2003, Miss Mandaue 2004, Miss Cebu 2005 and Miss Earth Fire 2007. Luzenne Jones – Miss Silka Cebu 1st runner up, Miss Mandaue 2017, and Miss BNY ambassador. Diane Muego – Miss Cebu 2013. Jaime Herrell – Miss Earth 2014. Mina Enjambre – International top model.
Wafer Models and Events handles one-on-one trainings and all year round workshops (3 batches per year). His 41st batch of modelling workshop starts in July 8, 2018.
