USC’s ‘Mugna: Take One’ art exhibit set

Cebu City, Philippines — More than a hundred artworks from senior high school students of the University of San Carlos (USC) will be showcased in two different venues here. 

The art exhibit dubbed “Mugna: Take One” will be held at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Atrium on March 31 to April 4, 2019 and at the SM Seaside City Atrium on April 24, 2019.

“Mugna means to create and as young aspiring artists, our aim is to create art for the new generation to appreciate. It is labeled “Take One” because this is the USC Arts and Design Strand’s first major art exhibit outside the campus,” Kimberly Ng, one of the students from USC said. 

According to a press statement, the activity aims “to share and encourage appreciation and enjoyment of the arts to the Cebuano community, other schools, art organizations and enthusiasts.”

The exhibit will showcase masterpiece in oil, water color, mural art, sculptures, installations, art prints, mosaics and photography. 

Performance art and short film will also be featured during the exhibit.

The activity will also offer free calligraphy workshop during the exhibit period at the SM Seaside City Atrium. 

The admission will be free and open to public. /bmjo
