A slam-bang affair seen in Bolts, Texters Cebu game
THE game between the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Meralco Bolts to start the 2013-2014 PBA PLDT myDSL Philippine Cup at the Cebu Coliseum tomorrow is expected to be slam-bang affair.
The return of Cebuanos Kelly Williams and Elliud Poligrates together with the debut of Gary David as a Meralco Bolt are some of the interesting highlights of tomorrow’s game.
Both coaches of the sister teams are excited about the game and are looking to score a victory this early.
“We want (to win) this game because we want to get off to a good start,” Talk ‘N Text coach Norman Black said. “We need to get ahead in the standings early, considering that we had a difficult campaign in the Governors’ Cup after my key players played in Fiba Asia tournament.”
The Texters were out of sync in the previous conference after starting the Governors’ Cup without four key players-Jimmy Alapag, Larry Fonacier, Ranidel De Ocampo and Jayson Castro. The four took a break after the Fiba tournament, wherein the Smart Gilas Pilipinas finished second to eventual champion Iran.
Meanwhile, Gregorio is looking forward to having a pure scorer in his team in David. “Gary is the best scorer in the league so he will be the focal point in our offense,” Gregorio said. “He’ll be a great help for Jared Dillinger and and Cliff Hodge.”
