Oil company says sorry for botched delivery
The oil company that used to supply fuel to Cebu City Hall apologized for their failure to deliver supplies last Apr. 23.
“There was no intention on our part to stop deliveries to the city,” said Richard Tiansay, Asst. Vice President for Sales in the Visayas of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines.
Last week, Rama signed an order terminating the city government’s contract with Phoenix after they were unable to receive their fuel supplies. City Administrator Lucelle Mercado said there was no prior notice from Phoenix Petroleum about their inability to deliver the fuel supplies.
Phoenix Petroleum is now asking the city government to reconsider them as the city’s fuel supplier. Mercado said Phoenix Petroleum, which was Cebu City Hall’s fuel supplier for three years, has to join the bidding again.
In the meantime, Mercado said they are continuing their emergency fuel purchases.
