Don’t buy butane canisters filled with LPG, public told

By: Jose Santino S. Bunachita June 11,2014 - 03:03 PM

The Department of Energy (DOE) 7 advised the public not to buy butane canisters refilled with liquified petroleum gasoline (LPG) because it’s risky and below standards.

A DOE Circular was passed in January this year making it illegal to refill LPG into butane cans and raising fines for retail and distribution from P1,000-3,000 into P50,000-60,000. The Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) will be apprehending vehicles transporting refilled cans within Cebu City.
