EOC announcement encouraging those who joined the 11.11 sale of a shoe store in Barangay Lahug to go on self-quarantine.

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is urging the people who attended the opening day of a shoe store in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, to undergo self-quarantine.

The EOC said that this would be a preventive measure for the possible spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among the estimated 1,000 individuals who attended the opening of the store.

The individuals, who were there should monitor their temperatures, any symptoms of cough, colds, and scratchy throat. If they have these symptoms, they are encouraged to go to their barangays and cluster clinics for a check-up and swabbing.

The individuals are highly encouraged to stay indoors and in an isolated room for the duration of the quarantine period.

“That’s the safest way to do preventive measures,” said Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementor of the EOC.
