Centro cops launch cleanup drive in Mandaue brgy

MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — The Barangay Centro Police Station of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) has launched its Oplan Limpyo Mandaue program in Barangay Guizo on Friday, June 18, 2021.
The activities conducted during the launching include trimming of tree branches, cleaning of graffiti on walls and sidewalks, repainting of pedestrian lanes, de-clogging of canals and putting-up of trash bins at Guizo barangay hall.
Police Major Eric Cabuslay Gingoyon, Centro Police Station commander who led the launching, said they chose to launch the program in Guizo because of the barangay’s problems such as drainage which would go through barangays Mantuyong and Centro, vandalism (graffiti on walls) and dilapidated pedestrian lanes.
The station also donated two trash bins for plastic bottles.

Gingoyon, said they would also be conducting a clean-up drive in four other barangays under their jurisdiction soon namely Centro, Alang-Alang, Guizo and Mantuyong.
He said before the program was launched the station was already joining non-government organizations in cleaning drainage.
Gingoyon said the program was one of the best practices of Station 1 as it aimed not just to clean their jurisdiction but to build rapport among stakeholders and other agencies.
“The Oplan Limpyo Mandaue was purposely made not only to show to the public that PNP personnel are capable of making their area of responsibility of Police Station 1 clean and green but also to develop the camaraderie among stakeholders and other agencies,” said Gingoyon.
The program was participated by the barangay Guizo officials, Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM), Mandaue City Environment and Natural Resources Office ( MCENRO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Department of General Services (DGS), Anti-Crime and Community Emergency Respond Team (ACCERT), Philippine Guardian Brotherhood Inc. Mandaue Chapter and Ironhood residences.
