CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) received four pickup trucks from the Cebu City government on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in a turn over ceremony held at the Camp Sotero Cabahug in Gorordo Avenue here.

CCPO chief Police Colonel Josefino Ligan expressed his gratitude for the four donated units, saying these could help the force in their mobility, especially during police operations.

“Dako kaayo nakong pasalamat sa atoang lokal nga gamhanan kay natagaan ta’g dugang nga transportasyon para sa atoang kapulisan. Dako gyud kaayong gamit ni sa atoang police operations,” he said.

(First of all, I am very thankful to our local government for giving us additional means of transportation for our policemen. This really helps, especially during our police operations.)

Ligan  said that one of these units will be given to the City Internal Affairs Services and the remaining ones are subject for assessment.

Cebu City Councilor Philip Zafra said that the turn over of these four pickup trucks, with an estimated value of P4 million, is part of the peace and order program of the city.

Apart from these four units, the Cebu City government is also looking to give the CCPO three more pick-up trucks and a SWAT van. He added that the renovation of CCPO’s firing range is also ongoing.

Zafra also said that they are finalizing with the CCPO the plans for a new headquarters that will be built soon. This headquarters has an estimated budget of around P60 million.

Ligan added that they are considering the same location in Camp Sotero Cabahug in Gorordo Avenue for the new headquarters.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar also attended the turn over of the pickup trucks.
