Apolonio Bacuac Jr., a security guard from Dumaguete, found himself P77,777 richer after scratching a lucky Red Hot 7s card, a Scratchit card game.
Bacuac is no stranger to such games. “Whenever I felt lucky, I would buy one of those scratch cards just to see if I could win anything,” he said in Filipino. He started trying his luck playing Scratchit cards a few years back and has often won smaller prizes, so it was a real treat for him and his family when he finally won it big.
On his way home from work, Bacuac felt lucky and visited the lotto outlet on Larena Drive in Dumaguete City. He tried Red Hot 7s because the colourful design caught his eye.
“The first card I got didn’t really win much,” he retold. “I got P170.” But he said that he and his wife still ‘felt lucky’ so they used the winnings to buy five more Red Hot 7s cards. “It was in one of those that we found the big winner,” he enthused.
Bacuac plans to use his winnings to pay off his outstanding debts, and pay for the medical expenses of his son with special needs.
Scratchit Kaskaswerte is one of the games offered by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Aside from Red Hot 7s, other Scratchit game cards are Lucky Horse, Cash Extravaganza, Go Bananas, and a new Spicy Hot game. These exciting games are available at any lotto outlet or Lucky Circle branches, in denominations of P20 and P50, and have grand prizes that can reach up to P500,000.
