Morning, evening Sinulog contest for 2016?
A morning and evening competition for participating contingents in the Sinulog is being considered by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama for next year’s celebration.
At yesterday’s press conference, Rama said he also wanted to categorize the dance performances of the contingents.
“I will make the additional changes. We cannot bring them [the contingents] all in the evening,” he said.
As the Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) overall chairman, Rama said the contingents competing in the morning will be separate from the evening performances.
Whoever wins in the morning and evening categories will compete for the overall title.
Extraordinary
The mayor said he will also make more visits to out-of-town contingents joining the Sinulog.
“All of the out-of-town contingents, I will be visiting them,” he said.
Rama also declared that he doesn’t favor the drawing of raffles during the Sinulog.
The mayor said the 2016 Sinulog will be different compared to this year’s event.
“The Sinulog 2015 is a special Sinulog. But the Sinulog of 2016 is an extraordinary Sinulog,” Rama said.
