A 39-year-old mother died while her 8-year-old daughter was seriously injured after their motorcycle crashed head-on with a 10-wheeler truck in barangay Lanas, Naga City yesterday morning.
Evangeline Taboada of barangay Dumlog, Toledo City was driving the motorbike. She was declared dead on arrival by doctors of the South General Hospital. Her daughter, April Jane, sustained severe head and body injuries, and is confined at the hospital.
Naga police said the woman’s motorcycle overtook two vehicles at a curved portion of a road and collided with the truck past 6 a.m.
The truck driver Mark Alcabsado, 24, of Naga City, is detained at the Naga police station pending the filing of charges.
