FARM WORKER ELECTROCUTED

By: Apple Ta-as June 10,2015 - 10:52 AM

AN 18-YEAR-OLD worker of a gamefowl farm was found dead in barangay Paculob, Dumanjug town, southern Cebu last Monday morning.

Police said Angelo Gumalal, a native of Tuburan town, Cebu, was believed to have been electrocuted after he tried to light a cigarette using a welding machine.

Police said the victim earlier tried to borrow a lighter from his co-workers so he could smoke.

Since his co-workers didn’t have a lighter, Gumalal went to the bunkhouse to look for a match, said PO3 Dionesio Tagopa, investigator of Dumanjug Police precinct.

The man was later found slumped on the ground with his right leg pinned by the welding machine, said police.
A stick of cigarette was found near the body.

Police said it was possible that the welding machine was grounded since the ground was wet following a heavy downpour the night before.
