The 2nd Kahayag forum will be held at the Sacred Heart Center-Convention Hall in Cebu City with the theme “Protect the Earth, Dignify Humanity” on Friday, Aug. 21.

Sponsored by the Community of St. John in collaboration with the University of San Carlos Biology Department and Department of Philosophy and Religious Education, the forum will focus on environmental issues.

It will highlight the Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter on protection of the environment. The forum is expected to gather students, members of the academe, seniors and other stakeholders.

“We need to engage in a dialogue on things that really matter, protecting the Earth and dignifying humanity,” said Fr. Justin Lee of the Community of St. John.

Topics to be tackled during the forum include resilience and sustainability of the environment, leadership in the age of climate change and new climate thinking.

Guests include Prof. Christopher Ryan Maboloc of the Ateneo De Davao University and Prof. Glen Matin Green of the University of San Carlos Biology Department.

The event will also feature an open floor-discussion. Pre-registration tickets are sold at P150 inclusive of snacks while onsite registration is P200.
