AFTER a second-place finish in the this year’s Ironman, John Philip Dueñas will try to finally win it wall when he competes in the 2015 National Duathlon Championships (NDC) on Sept. 12-13 at Lantaw in South Road Properties (SRP).
The Cebuano triathlete will participate in the men’s elite standard distance which will have a 10-kilometer run, 40k bike and 5k run.
Also competing in the same category are national team members led by Asian Beach Games bronze-medalist Rubino Javier, world games veteran Carlo Pedregosa, Jarwyn Banatao, Robinson Esteves, Jeric Buhian, triathletes Deo Timbol, John “Rambo” Chicano and Benjamin Rana.
The competition will have the standard sprint and youth mini-sprint distances. The standard category is open to elite and age-groupers while the sprint division which is a 5k run, 20k bike and 2.5k run course will be for participants aged 16-19 years old and age groupers 20-above.
The youth mini-sprint category is open to competitors 13-15 years old. It will have the 2.5k run, 10k bike and the 2.5k run events.
