Public warned of petty crimes

By: Apple Ta-as November 29,2015 - 03:36 AM

POLICE warned the public of an expected   rise in petty crimes as the Christmas season approaches.

Theft and robbery cases may increase, said Chief Insp. David Señor, chief of the Police Community Relations (PCR) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Señor said they have  received  reports of rampant thefts   in N. Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City.

These cases usually happen in public utility jeepneys.

Señor said most of the culprits are  carolers, who climb on moving jeepneys and buses to sing Christmas songs and ask for alms but end up  taking passengers’ valuables.

Caroling in PUJs is prohibited under the anti-mendicancy ordinance.
