THE SACRED Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles showcased their prowess in futsal as they won four titles in the Mandaue Mayor’s Cup Futsal Tournament in the SHS-AdC campus in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
The Magis Eagles ended the two-day tournament with the boys’ under-13, boys’ under-15, girls’ under-15 and girls’ under-18 crowns. The Abellana National School (ANS), meanwhile, managed to secure a title in the boys’ under-18 division.
SHS-AdC defeated Consolacion United Town FC, 1-0, in the boys under-13 finals while its boys’ under-15 squad won over University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Balamban, 4-1, for the title.
The Magis Eagles’ under-15 girls team accumulated enough points to emerge as the best team in the league-type format of the division.
The Magis Eagles girls’ under-18 team escaped Tayud FC via penalty shootout, 3-2, to rule the division.
ANS prevented a SHS-AdC sweep by accumulating the most points in the boys’ U-18 division. SHS-AdC finished second and Guardian Strikers FC settled for third place.
