SWU-Phinma edges FU in Unigames volleyball tourney

THE Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma overpowered the Foundation University (FU), 25-22, 25-14, 25-11, yesterday in the volleyball event of the 2017 Philippine University Games (UniGames) in Dumaguete City.

The Spiking Cobras, who were booted out in the quarterfinals two years ago due to manpower woes, were on full force on Monday night as they dominated the game-save for a shaky opening set for their first win in the single round robin elimination.

SWU is grouped together with the University of Mindanao-Davao, FU, Arellano University and De La Salle University in Group C.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout quarterfinals.

SWU returns to action today against Arellano University at 8 a.m.
