April 15,2014 - 03:18 PM

The Holy Week skies is going to be overcast with chances of rainfall because of the low pressure area (LPA) affecting the weather system in the Eastern and Central Visayas.

Philippine Atmospheric Geophsyical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in Visayas Dir. Oscar Tabada said Cebu will experience rainshowers until Easter Sunday.

The rest of the Visayas will have moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorm which could trigger flash floods and landslides.

The state weather bureau however downplayed the chance of the LPA developing into a typhoon as it closes Guiuan, Eastern Samar located 60 kilometer east based on their 10 a.m. weather bureau advisory./ Intern Xavier University Irish Lam
