THREE Cebuano Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters Roel “Akiyama” Rosauro of Team YawYan ArDigma Cebu, Paul Carrere and Arnel Ylanan of Project X MMA will test their mettle in the upcoming Pacific XTreme Combat: Laban MMA that will be held on Aug. 27 at the Limketkai Atrium in Cagayan de Oro City.
Rosauro, who was part of the vaunted Cebu Top Team that won various MMA fight cards, will face the veteran fighter Lorde Rey Yamit of Butuan Extreme MMA.
Rosauro holds a record of two wins with a single loss while Yamit has a 2-5 (win-loss) card.
Ylanan (4-1), meanwhile, will square off against Davao City’s Ruben Lanaza (7-2) in the undercard.
Carrere, a French fighter based in Mandaue City and a former amateur Muay Thai fighter, will take on Dumaguete City’s Fredrick Lim Jr.
Carrere just recently debuted into the professional MMA scene with a single win while Lim has a record of 10 wins with two losses.
The fight card’s main event will feature Cagayan de Oro’s Israel Gomez (1-0) versus Lakay MMA’s unbeaten prospect Jomar Pa-ac (2-0). In the co-main event former URCC champion Victor Torre (8-2) will fight Marcelo Cabusas (1-0) of Metro Manila.
