TWO families were displaced by a fire that destroyed two houses made out of light materials at Upper Gun Club, Sitio Banawa in Barangay Guadalupe at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters said an unplugged electrical appliance caused the fire which started in the room of Guillerma Amante.

Roxanne Aquilos, Amante’s daughter-in-law, said Amante left her radio unplugged. Aquilos recalled hearing distorted sounds produced by Amante’s radio before the fire broke out.

“Nahibung ko nga naa’y nikarat nga radyo unya kalit lang naa’y nipiti. Segundos ra dayon nikatag na (fire) didto (I heard a distorted noise from the radio and then something crackled. It only took seconds for the fire to spread all over the place),” Arquilos said.

Not one from either of the two families numbering 17 persons each was hurt by the fire. Firefighters pegged the damage at P30,000.
