AN unidentified man turned over to tanods of Barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City a box containing 799 vials of liquid chemical solution believed to be Nubain.

Tanod Charles Angga said he and his companions immediately sent the box to the Pari-an police precinct for safekeeping.

Police said they will have the solutions tested at the PNP Crime Laboratory to determine what it is.

Angga said the man who looked to be in his 20s and clad in shorts and ball cap dropped the unopened box in front of him and other tanods who were manning a van-for-hire terminal in their barangay at 11 a.m. Sunday.

“Wala koy labot ana sir ha (I have nothing to do with that sir),” said the young man before he ran away. Annga said they saw the vials which they believed to contain Nubain when they opened the box.

Pari-an police opened the box and found vials of Ranitidine HCL with brand name Ranitac.

According to the Medical Dictionary Ranitidine Hydrochloride is a form of anti-ulcer drugs that “reduces gastric acid secretion and increases gastric mucus and bicarbonate production, creating a protective coating on gastric mucosa.”
