Four colorum vans impounded in Cebu City

Four colorum vans were apprehended by personnel of the regional office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB-7) personnel at Osmeña Boulevard, Barangay Sto. Niño in Cebu City Monday morning.

Jun Tumulak, precision specialist of LTFRB-7 said these four vans were all apprehended along Osmeña Boulevard, Barangay Sto. Niño, Cebu City. “All units apprehended were supposedly tourist vans but picked up passengers,” he said.

Among those impounded were one Toyota Commuter with plate number GXK 517 owned by CEPUDCO MPC and driven by Alberto Cabalan and one Toyota Hi-Ace with place number YKN 330 owned by Jose Randy Mirambol of JDiaz Transport.

Tumulak said the Toyota Commuter van has documents listing it as intended for tourist transport services. The owner will be penalized for P6,000. Cabalan who has no license and found to show discourteous behavior will be fined P3,000.

Also caught were one Toyota Hi-Ace with plate number VZ 0205 owned by Viencent Moreno and driven by Luisito Moreno Layar and one Nissan Urvan with plate number OX 3557 owned and driven by Galolo Fernando Carcallas.

Both Carcallas and Moreno will be fined P200,000. All four vans were impounded at the regional Land Transportation Office (LTO-7) impounding area at T. Padilla Street in Cebu City.
