HEBER Alqueza knocked down 1,732 pinfalls in eight games last Sunday to emerge as the 2017 Bowler of the Year of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA)-Prima at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad, Cebu City.
The 21-year-old Alqueza averaged 216.5 pinfalls in beating junior kegler Aui Padawan who finished second with 1,641 pinfalls and 205.1 average. Xyrra Cabusas settled in third place with a 1,594 total and 191.3 average.
A total of 12 bowlers who are all monthly champions competed in BTA’s season-ending tournament.
Bowlers who ranked fourth to 12th were: Clarence Tiu (1,568), Arthur Tapaya (1,565), Boy Co (1,550), Wilbert Yu (1,543), Luther Tapaya (1,525), Ed Aniñon (1,458), Luke Bolongan (1,450), Clyde Tan (1,438) and GJ Buyco (1,435), respectively.
