The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) announced their plans to review fire safety measures of province-owned facilities in the wake of the fire that razed Metro Gaisano in Ayala Center Cebu.

PDRRMO chief Baltazar Tribunalo Jr. told reporters that they will also plan to reorient individuals on responding to fire-related incidents.

“Ipa-check sad nato ang mga fire extinguishers labi na nga naay mga bag.o mga fire extinguishers ang Kapitolyo (We will also check fire extinguishers especially that Capitol has new fire extinguishers),” Tribunalo said.

He said the Provincial Engineering Office is checking on the wiring systems of all Capitol-owned properties.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III reminded local governments to closely coordinate and cooperate with PDRRMO on reviewing fire safety measures for government-owned buildings and buildings owned by private entities.
