Cebu City Hall’s decision to only warn, not detain minors violating the city’s curfew ordinance drew mixed reactions from netizens.
Jonathan Carlo Cortes wrote, “Warn the kids.. detain the parents.. their kids are their responsibilities anyway, not the government’s.”
Alan Schmidt said, “Arrest the parents for failing to give proper supervision for their kids violating curfew.”
Another netizen named Lee Van wrote, “Lagi nalang warn? Ilang beses na yang ginawa Wala parin nangyari, kaya dapat ang mga bata na pasaway at mga magulang nila ang ikulong” (Always warning? They did it several times and nothing happens. Those naughty children and irresponsible parents should be arrested.)
