Candle-lighting activity for Kis Ramos set at UP Cebu on Thursday
Cebu City, Philippines — Students from the University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) will be holding a candle-lighting activity for Kis Tryvl Ramos.
Ramos, 21, was among the victims in the shooting incident in a coffee shop along F. Ramos Street in Cebu City late Wednesday evening, April 10, 2019.
An advisory sent to members of the media by friends and schoolmates of Ramos stated that the candle-lighting activity will be held 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the UP Cebu Oblation Square.
“They also call for justice for Kis and all the other victims, identified to be employees of the said coffee shop,” the advisory said.
Kis is a graduating Psychology student at UP Cebu. She was a former activist and student journalist. She was set to graduate this June.
Investigators are eyeing business as one of the possible motives behind the incident that also claimed the life of one of the shop’s owners, John Michael Hermoso. /bmjo
