Habal driver shoots jealous neighbor in Consolacion
A 20-YEAR-OLD habal-habal driver shot his neighbor who allegedly accused him of having an affair with his wife outside of his home in sitio Katugasan, barangay Casili in Consolacion town at 1 a.m. Saturday.
Jhon Philip Taburada was waiting in ambush for 38-year-old Randy Lucernas Lopez. The victim was hit in the neck, left arm and buttocks.
Lopez was rushed to the Eversely Child Sanitarium in Mandaue City and was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
The suspect fled.
PO3 Charlie Valmoria of the Consolacion police station said a resident living nearby reported the incident.
PO1 Archie Caputolan said the two had previous altercations as Lopez suspected that Taburada was carrying an illicit affair with his wife.
“Kana si Randy Lopez, seloso daw kaayo na siya. Mag selos siya sa iyang asawa ug ni Taburada (Randy Lopez is very jealous and he’s jealous of his wife and Taburada’s closeness),” Caputolan said.
Taburada fetches Lopez’s children to and from school. /UP Intern Angeli Sarmiento
