A CONSTRUCTION worker was electrocuted while his two co-workers were jolted by electric shock in an accident in barangay Cañorong, Samboan town, southern Cebu.

Pablo Londete Jr., 27, suffered severe burns in the chest. He was declared dead when he and two other victims were brought to the Oslob District Hospital.

Londete also fractured the bone in the left arm after he fell from the scaffolding where he was standing before he got electrocuted.

Jemar Basig, 25, and Emy Ocamis were confined at the hospital with minor injuries.
The incident happened at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday while the three were working at the barangay’s covered court.

P02 Ressel Jabagat said three were supposed to pour cement on one of the pillars of the building.
Londete stood on the scaffolding estimated to be at least 18 feet from the ground, while Basig and Ocamis were on another scaffolding above their co-worker.

Londete was about to hand a steel bar with a stirrup steel attached at the tip to his two co-workers.

The weight of the stirrup steel caused the steel bar to bend and its tip landed the powerline of the Cebu Electric Cooperative (Cebeco), which was just about half a meter from the scaffolding.
Londete fell to the cemented ground.
