Indian national killed in broad daylight in Lacion

CEBU CITY, Philippines – A 60-year-old Indian national fell victim to another shooting incident in Cebu.

Piara Singh was declared dead on arrival by responders after a still unidentified gunman shot him in Upper Lamac, Consolacion town in northern Cebu past 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 21.

Citing accounts from witnesses in the area, investigators from Consolacion Police Station said Singh, a resident of Brgy. Casili of the same municipality was traversing downhill in Upper Lamac on board his motorcycle when a man from another motorcycle trailing him pulled out a gun and fired in his direction.

Police are still determining the motive behind the killing while forensic experts from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) are in the area to conduct further investigation as of this posting.

Consolacion is a first-class municipality located around 15 kilometers north of Cebu City. /rcg
