2 motorcycle drivers die after colliding with a dump truck in Pinamungajan, Cebu
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two motorcycle drivers including a woman, died after they collided with a dump truck that encroached on their lane in Barangay Pandacan, Pinamungajan, Cebu, on Thursday, February 11.
Police said that at around 11:00 a.m., motorcycle drivers Vicky Pepito and Jasper Campo, were heading south when the incident happened.
Pinamungajan police said the dump truck driver identified as Gilbert Tabañag, 43, was overtaking a motorcycle and swerved to the opposite lane hitting Pepito and Campo.
The collision, police said, threw Pepito to the side of the road while Campo was pinned beneath the truck resulting in his instantaneous death. The dump truck then crashed into a concrete fence.
Pepito was a resident of Barangay Arpili, Balamban, Cebu while Campo was from Barangay Poblacion, Toledo, Cebu.
Tabañag on the other hand is from Barangay Hilaitan, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, and is presently residing at Upper Torre, Inayawan, Cebu City.
He is temporarily detained at the Pinamungajan Police Station for the proper disposition of his case./rcg
