CEBU CITY — Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has suggested to NOAH Complex Manager Jocelyn Pesquera that all barangay officials and city hall employees be vaccinated there.

Rama said this during the 2nd quarter assembly of the Liga ng mga Barangay – Cebu City Chapter held this Monday, June 21, at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

He said the city had 80 barangays with an estimated number of 1, 700 barangay officials.

Rama said he also urged around 9,000 city hall employees to get vaccinated at the NOAH complex.

He emphasized that the area was big that it could cater to at least 1,000 persons who would want to be vaccinated per day.

“I am suggesting nga ang barangay kapitan, officials, aron kausa ra, adto sa NOAH tanan — akong gisultian si Joey (Lawyer Jocelyn Pesquera)… Kay didto gud, dili kay striktohon nimo, dako kaayo ang lugar. Ang importante ra nga ma-vaccine,” said Rama.

(I am suggesting that the barangay captains and officials so that they will just do this one time — they will have themselves vaccinated at NOAH — I have told Joey (Lawyer Jocelyn Pesquera) … because there, we won’t have to be so strict because the area is so huge. What is important is that they be vaccinated.)

He said he believed that there would be no problem with the transportation since there would be government vehicles which they could use when going to the vaccination center at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Rama, however, clarified that they would not distinguish as to what barangay would be accommodated first, as long as they would register themselves.

He also emphasized that the schedule would also depend on their priority groups.

It can be recalled that NOAH complex was used as an isolation facility at the height of the pandemic before it was converted into a vaccination center.
