CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Department of Tourism in Central Visayas (DOT-7) and the province of Negros Oriental are offering a different kind of tourism experience with its farm-work-fitness tour that will include a visit to a rabbit farm.

“The farms of Negros Oriental weave a one-of-a-kind story for visitors. A tour of the farms affords interesting insights into a province of haciendas, some of which were once owned by Spanish gentry,” DOT-7 said.

“The experience as well allows visitors to revel in a rich tapestry of natural wonders of its highlands,” it added.

DOT-7 and local government of Negros Oriental gave a preview of its Farm-Work- Fitness experience offer during the recently concluded Cebu Travel Catalogue International (CTCI) show at the Ayala Center Cebu.

In his product presentation during the CTCI, Oliver Lemence, Administrative Officer II of the Negros Oriental Provincial Tourism Office, said this kind of an “experience stands out for its cultural and historical significance.”

Bayawan City that is located at the southernmost tip of the province has Joeltess Organica Farm, Agridevelopments Corporation and Inland Fresh Water Aquaculture that may be visited by tourists.

At the Municipality of Dauin, they also have the Baslay Highland Brew Coffee and the Kawayan Collective.

In Pamplona, which hosts the Balinsasayaw Twin Lakes, Aljous Salomon designed Rabbiton Farm that offers a “multi-experience affair which has demonstrated a huge increase in popularity with the tourism reboot this year.”

When at the Rabbiton Farm, guests do not only get to experience close encounters with these furry long-eared mammals, They also get to experience riding horses.

In addition to that, they also get to experience an educational encounter with various species of chickens, including the Ayam Cemani, an all-black breed from Indonesia.
