PSL 21-U hoops action goes to Cordova

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The Pilipinas Super League (PSL) 21-U VisMin leg will bring top-notch regional basketball action to the Municipality of Cordova in Mactan, Cebu.
PSL’s games in Cordova begins on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Cordova Sports Complex along Juan Sitoy Street in Barangay Poblacion.
PSL deputy commissioner Chelito Caro personally met Cordova town mayor Cesar E. Suan earlier this week to formalize the latter’s hosting of the major regional basketball league.
Wednesday’s games feature No. 2 team SEALCOR Cagayan de Oro Kingfishers taking on No. 9 Lapu-Lapu City Pantum at 6 p.m.
The Kingfishers are looking to bounce back from their loss to Bukidnon Cowboys last July 29. They will take on a Lapu-Lapu City team eyeing to snap its three-game losing skid.
Cagayan de Oro has a record of 4-1 (win-loss) while Lapu-Lapu has a 1-4 slate.
In the second game, the Davao Occidental Dreamers will square off with the Bogo City Bugoys at 8 p.m.
The Dreamers are currently ranked No. 3 in the team standings with a 4-1 record, while the Bugoys are at the bottom with a 0-5 slate.
On Thursday, August 4, league-leader Consolacion Sarok Weavers will play against the Cowboys at 6 p.m.
The Sarok Weavers are undefeated at 5-0 while Bukidnon has a 4-1 card. The Sarok Weavers are fresh from demolishing the Sheer Masters last Sunday, 79-50.
The Asturias Corn Ranchers and OCCCI-Ormoc Sheer Masters will provide the second game action at 8 p.m.
On Friday, August 5 games feature San Fernando Buffalos vs. Lapu-Lapu City and Sherilin-Unisol Mandaue City vs the Bugoys.
On Saturday, the Dreamers will face Ormoc at 6 p.m. while the Sarok Weavers plays the Kingfishers at 8 p.m.
