CEBU CITY, Philippines — The search for the Sinulog Festival Queen 2023 is on.
And on Monday, Jan. 9, the 11 candidates vying for the crown walked the runway for the first time.
The Sinulog Festival Queen 2023 officially launched on Monday with the Parade of Costume and Runway competitions.
Kiara Liane Wellington of Talisay City bested other candidates as she won Best in Runway and Parade of Costume.
She also received the Ms. Listo Ganado Special Award from San Miguel Corp.
Rounding up the top three winners are Angel Myrna Theia Layam of Barangay San Nicolas Proper, Cebu City, and Amor Beah Singh of Toledo City.
Layam and Singh ranked 1st and 2nd runner ups respectively.
During Monday’s event, organizers from the Sinulog Foundation Inc. and Cebu City government also unveiled the crown design for this year’s Sinulog Festival Queen.
The new crown is designed by Rhodel De Silva.
The grand coronation for the Sinulog Festival will be held this Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
Monika Afable of Borongan, Eastern Samar is currently the crown’s holder of the Sinulog Festival Queen.
Afable won the competition in 2020.
