Ex-Capitol aides fail to return guns, radio
THE Capitol is attempting to recover equipment issued to former employees.
The Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) said they are exerting efforts to recover five .38 caliber revolvers from a staff member of former governor Gwendolyn Garcia and radio equipment from a former security consultant of Gov. Hilario Davide III.
Marites Redoble, head of the properties section of PGSO said Edwin Mixdon, an executive assistant in charge of the former governor’s security affairs has still to account for the five revolvers, while former security consultant Loy Anthony Madrigal has yet to return radio transceivers.
Redoble said they already sent demand letters to Mixdon in 2013.
But the PGSO official added that the revolvers may not be in Mixdon’s possession as these were turned over to police officers detailed to governor Garcia. But since he was the one who signed the receipt of the firearms, he remains accountable for them.
Redoble added two policemen detailed at the governor’s office admitted losing the firearms. One has been asked to indemnify the amount of P28,000 for the firearm while another is still the subject of an ongoing investigation.
If the former officials fail to return the equipment, the PGSO will file cases against them.
