bai Hotel Cebu wins big at Cebu Goes Culinary 2023

bai Hotel Cebu bagged 2 gold medals, 2 bronze medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 diploma recognition in the recently concluded Cebu Goes Culinary 2023 held at SM Seaside City Cebu last September 30 to October 1, 2023.

With the event’s huge success, it is without a doubt that the best of Cebu’s culinary talents and creativity were effectively showcased – highlighting the diversity of Cebu in a cesspool of passionate individuals.

In a culinary odyssey brought by the National Food Showdown and Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Association of Cebu Inc., bai Hotel Cebu was able to clinch multiple high-level titles for their brilliant masterpieces. With this year’s theme – Malakas at Maganda: The Surge of Philippine Cuisine, an array of Filipino dishes was showcased from each chef’s unique hints of representation. Over a hundred chefs and beverage masters affiliated with different hotels, restaurants, resorts, and learning institutions gather in one prestigious event not just to compete but also to embark on new knowledge and experience to apply to their expertise. Local foodies and culinary enthusiasts were invited as well to witness the culinary extravaganza and share insights for the sake of craft in the food and beverage industry.

bai Hotel Cebu showcased remarkable achievements across multiple categories in the competition. Gaining a Diploma of Recognition in the Atchara Category are Chefs Jhorie Laranjo and Arturo Flores. Bronze Medals were won in the Cocktail Mixing with Geovanne Alcoy, and in the Sutukil Category with Chefs Tristan Laud and Mark Marqueda. For the Silver Medals, our very own pastry chefs; Chef Lychiell Alde, Chef Claire Gacera, and Chef Glory Larase excelled in the Creative Cake Decoration Category. Two Gold Medals from major categories of the event were gloriously won. Our very own Wallstreet barista, Jastine Talisic, won a Gold Medal with distinction in the Coffee Concoction category. Chefs Ryan Estrada, Jose Dizon, and Lychiell Alde snagged gold for the Klasika Moderna Culinarya category. 

With the event’s huge success, it is without a doubt that the best of Cebu’s culinary talents and creativity were effectively showcased – highlighting the diversity of Cebu in a cesspool of passionate individuals. Overall, the event highlighted the importance of the culinary industry in Cebu and served as a platform for promoting and celebrating the region’s unique food culture.
