THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) central office will hold a hearing on the motion for reconsideration filed by taxi operators on the P10 flag-down rate discount today.

LTFRB member Antonio Enrile Inton Jr., said to day’s hearing will be the last before they issue a final resolution on the case.

Among the petitioners are the Metro Cebu Taxi Operators Association (MCTOA) and the Association of Taxi Operators in Panay Inc.

The two groups filed a motion for reconsideration at the LTFRB central office in Manila.

The groups questioned the reduced flag-down rate, saying the LTFRB erred in its decision by basing it on the reduced prices of fuel worldwide and not on other factors like the cost of spare parts, goods and services and inflation.

Meanwhile, the second hearing between call center agent Dave Say Horca and taxi driver Joel Ramos is scheduled on Thursday this week.

Horca said he will present witnesses but he won’t mention names.

“We totally understand that there is due process to be followed but never did we realize that it is such a hassle,” Horca told Cebu Daily News.

Horca accused Ramos of allegedly throwing P10 coins at him and his wife and threatening them with a knife.

“We, on our end though, are still going to press criminal charges. We are waiting for our lawyer’s go-signal and further advice of our lawyer,” Horca added.
