The alleged suspect was identified as Geraldyn Sanchez a.k.a. “Baden,” 23, a resident of Sitio Pansang, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.
Police Staff Sergeant Jaymos Tordios, investigator of the Inayawan Police Station, told CDN Digital in a phone interview that Sanchez was nabbed while hiding in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, Cebu.
According to Tordios, Sanchez was identified by the victim himself.
Sanchez is now detained at the Inayawan Police Station waiting for the filing of appropriate charges against her.
Tordios stated that they are preparing to file charges of frustrated murder against her.
A follow-up investigation revealed that the victim was inside a shanty with the suspect’s boyfriend when he was attacked.

According to Tordios, Sanchez then fought with her boyfriend believing that he was seeing another woman. It was at this juncture that Veloso allegedly intervened which angered Sanchez.
Tordios relayed that Sanchez became enraged at Veloso after she found out that Racal was meeting up with another woman inside the victim’s house.
Mad that her friend was covering up her lover’s infidelity, Sanchez allegedly drew a gun and tried to shoot Veloso in the head.
However, the gun did not fire which caused her to fire again, hitting the victim on the arm. The bullet went through to his leg because he was sitting down, stated Tordios.
After the incident, both Sanchez and Racal allegedly fled and headed to Talisay City while the victim was rushed to the Talisay City District Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The pair separated on Thursday night according to the woman.
She told police that she ended up in Barangay Dumlog while her boyfriend went to Barangay Campo Cuatro.
Sanchez was nabbed the day after the incident during a hot-pursuit operation by police.
