3 injured after fire hits houses in Tisa on Monday morning

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Two fires hit Brgy. Tisa, Cebu City on Monday, February 5, and injured two individuals and left P1.6 million in damages.

Based on reports from the Cebu City Fire Office, the first fire occurred at 7:53 a.m. in a house in 1st Naya Village but was immediately put out.

Roughly 20 minutes later, another fire erupted in the same barangay—this time, a larger one that affected a total of nine houses.

Firefighters rushed to Sitio Caduloy, also in Brgy. Tisa, to combat the fire there that reached 1st alarm.

 

A total of 39 fire trucks responded to the scene, and firefighters were able to put the flames under control approximately 20 minutes later. They then declared that the fire had been put out by 9:50 a.m.

Three individuals, on the other hand, sustained burn wounds while escaping from the fire scene, fire investigators confirmed. They were identified as Christian Omambac, Gwendel Ciriaco, and Jonathan Jabalde.

Lacerations were found on Omambac’s hands, Ciriaco’s left leg and Jabalde’s left shoulder, and they were immediately given treatment.

The fire in Sitio Caduloy burned down eight houses, with damages estimated at P1,650,000.

Probe is still ongoing to determine the real cause of the fire.
