After two lackluster outings, the Bayfront Hotel Cebu finally found their groove and blew out the Filmon Prince Medallion, 79-36, in Division A action in the 20th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Ateneo de Cebu gym in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Chase Cokaliong, Eldie Cabahug and Anthony Ong spearheaded Bayfront’s solid attack with 10 points each.
The result was never in doubt as Bayfront raced off to an 18-6 lead after the first 10 minutes. They kept the pressure on and established a 37-14 lead at halftime, an advantage that held until the final buzzer for Bayfront’s first win in three games.
Filmon dropped to 1-1.
In the day’s featured match-up, the reigning champions Petron-Goldberry kept their spot above the rest of the field as they edged the Gaisano Capital, 53-49.
Not to be outdone, the RDAK Stallions seized solo second place with a clinical 70-42 demolition of the Chick@Phil Basic.
In Division B, Dynamic Power remained unbeaten in two games after blasting the reigning titleholders, RDAK Transporters, 61-50.
Autolab of Merrick Goho slipped past White Gold, 50-48.
