Thousands of Mandaue City voters have not yet had their  biometrics data captured at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office . The deadline falls on Oct. 31.

Election Officer Anna Fleur Gujilde said that of more than  186,000 registered voters in the city, there are still 18,193 voters who have no biometric data as of September 21.

Among the reasons for this is the transfer of residence of these voters even though Comelec already sent them notices.

Comelec has also sent a list of voters who have no biometric data to  barangay captains so they can notify their constituents.

The Comelec is reminding the public not to wait for the last minute before signing up as voters for the 2016 election.
