P2.3-million ‘shabu’ seized in checkpoint

ILLEGAL drugs worth more than P2 million were seized in separate police operations in Cebu City last Thursday night.

A pack of shabu weighing 200 grams worth  P2.3 million was seized from Marvin Daan Cuizon, 22, and French Villanueva, 22.

The two men were riding a motorcycle when operatives of the Mabolo Police Station flagged them down at a checkpoint on S. Osmeña Street at the North Reclamation Area.

Both  men told police they got the shabu from barangay Kalunasan.

Police said the two suspects admitted that their boss is detained at the Cebu City Jail.

In barangay Inayawan, 51-year-old Wilson Yu was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) .

Police said Yu sold a pack of suspected shabu to  a CIB operative, who posed as a  buyer.

Police said they seized from Yu’s possession 21 sachets of shabu worth P25,000.
