7 Koreans nabbed for illegal gambling

SEVEN Korean nationals were arrested last Friday evening after they were caught operating an illegal online gambling activity in Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

Solji Kim, 31, a casino employee; Lee Jae Hyung, 31; Oh Jeong Yeon, 21,  also a casino employee; Lee Hyun Hwan, 31; Kim Si Hwan, 31;  Han Jee Hoon, 25; and Park Dae Gwan were arrested through a search warrant issued by Judge Toribio Quiwag of RTC Branch 27 in Lapu-Lapu City last March 31, 2016.

Police served the search warrant addressed to the house rented by Soli Kim at Bayswater Subdivision, Agus Road, Barangay Marigondon.

Senior Insp. Verniño Versale, and Chief Insp. Gifter Sucalit served the search warrant last Friday.

Police also confiscated 4 laptops with cooling pad, 1 desktop, 2 computer monitors, 6 computer keyboards, 2 Internet modems, 2 Wi-Fi routers, 5 laptop chargers, 3 units of Bluetooth computer mouse with pad, 2 mobile phones, 11 USBs, 2 external hard drives, notebooks, ledger and assorted computer cords.

Police learned that the group came from Manila and not from Korea as they have alleged.

The arrested Koreans were detained at the Lapu-Lapu Police Station pending the filing of charges.
