A 33-year-old man died after he accidentally touched the power line of Cebu Electric Company (Cebeco) III while trimming coconut leaves in Barangay Canbang-og, Toledo City around 4 p.m. last Monday.

Marchie Laspoña, single, of the said place, was pronounced dead on arrival at Toledo District Hospital.

PO2 Joselito Genon of Toledo City Police Station said the victim was hired by Marlyn Villamor, owner of the coconut tree, to cut the palm fronds as they already covered the power line. But while cutting the leaves, Laspoña accidentally touched the primary line.

Laspoña suffered third degree burns.
