Acting Cebu City Mayor Margot Osmeña told reporters in a press conference on Monday that she won’t withdraw the case filed against the seven barangay chairpersons of Cebu City even if they already returned the city-issued vehicles.

“No plans to withdraw the case. I’ll leave it to the next mayor since it was filed by Cebu City Government and not me.”

Osmeña made this statement after the remaining six barangay chairpersons decided to return their units.

Councilor-elect Philip Zafra (Tisa), Joel Garganera (Tinago), Ramil Ayuman (Apas), Yolandito Cagang (Basak Pardo), Rosalita Callino (Buot),and Ana Tabal (Tagba-o) returned their city-issued vehicles Monday morning.

There were 47 barangay officials who initially refused to return their government-issued vehicles.

As a result, the City Hall file a complaint against them before the Ombudsman-Visayas prompting them to reconsider and heed Osmeña’s call.
